Appeal For Sponsorship
Dear Readers,
As you already know, The North-East Students’ Forum (NESF) of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), organized a North-East Fest on the 23rd of February 2008. The Event was a major success with over 2,500 people in attendance. Last year, the event was possible due to the contributions made by several sponsors including Mr. Dorjee Khandu, the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. The other sponsors included:

The North-East Students' Forum (NESF)
FOOTPRINTS
Keeping in mind the aims and objectives of the Forum, the students have been trying earnestly to bridge the cultural gap between the North-East and other parts of the country starting from the college and extending it to the city. Today, the students from the region constitute the most visible group in the college with members in almost all the students associations and activities. They are especially active in the college choir, football and basketball teams, Centre for Social Concern, Social Zest among others. Their valuable contributions to college has been acknowledged by one and all. The Forum has organised Food Fests, Exhibitions of Handicrafts and Handloom products of the region, discussions and debates among students on certain issues confronting the North-East. In short, they have brought the North-East to the college.
FOOTPRINTS08
On February 23rd, 2008, the Forum organised FOOTPRINTS08, an EXCLUSIVE North-East Fest, the first of its kind in the city. There were cultural dances from different states of the region, music from North-East bands and artists from the city, a food court serving authentic North-East Cuisine, exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts and handlooms among others. The Fest was attended by over 2,500 people. It received appreciation and acclaim from various quarters of the society including NGOs, other civil society groups, student bodies of the region, churches and community organisations.

St.Joseph's College(Autonomous), Bangalore, was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1882. The objective of the College is to prepare men and women for the service of the country. The emphasis ofllege is on academic excellence, character formation, social concern and overall human development. The College was declared a College of Potential Excellence by UGC. It ranked seventh among Art Colleges in India and first in Bangalore according to The India Today in June 2007.
